Luckily for us, there are many free programs and advice out there today to help keep your computer safe from viruses. 1. Only Install Programs You Trust
The most common source of viruses comes from programs you installed. Be sure to check if the program or the application's publisher is someone you can trust or do a virus scan on the file before even attempting to install it.
2. Take Precaution when Opening An Email Attachment
A decade ago, The virus, The Love Bug, was one of the most widely spread viruses in world and was actually distributed mainly via email. The persons who opened the attachment in the email didn't realize that the attachment actually contained a a virus.
3. Only Visit Websites you trust
The most common source of getting harmful programs or a virus are through untrusted websites. Some untrusted websites will actually try install scripts if you don't have a secure computer without you even knowing, some site attempt trick you into download a file that is instead a virus.
